We’re so excited to start sharing details about our 4th annual Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Festival on Sat May 7th! This season we hope to introduce you to new businesses and re-discover some of the old gems; offering special deals, discounts, gift with purchases, come out & support our thriving business community. Step into places you’ve read about and never had a chance to discover like; Old Trunk Antiques & Contrast Living, Love & Greed and Passion for the Past, Glory of India and Himalayan Kitchen, BAND Gallery, West End Comics and Cadillac Lounge, Mata and Mother India, Parkdale Flea and 4 Your Hair Extensions, The Well, PARC and so many more!

Parkdale has so many incredible community organization’s, artists and crafters, and we’re excited to share the stage with them. Stay tuned for exciting local artisans presenting interactive fun for the whole family and weekly attraction and partner announcements. Plus, this year we hope to bring a few side road closures with added community activities – Stay posted via #springintoparkdale on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Festival – Call for Artists & Entertainers

Planning has kicked off for the 4th Annual Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Festival on Sat May 7th from 11am-6pm!!!  If you’re a local artist, crafter, performer, musician or busker and want to share your talent with the community, we would love to hear from you. We have a few spots remaining within the ‘FUN’ zones created along Queen Street West for the Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Festival and you may just be the perfect fit.

Please submit the following details by Friday April 1 via email to director@parkdalevillagebia.com

  • Name of Applicant
  • Name of Band/Artist
  • Describe your act/medium (abstract dance, kids performer, visual art)
  • Short artist bio (140 characters)
  • Contact information: contact name, cell, email, and website
  • Have you recently shared your performance, crafts, art at an event?
  • List any equipment and/or space you would require (table, technical needs, wall for mounting)

Come Spring into Parkdale with Us!

Live entertainment, shopping deals and great food are just some of many reasons to come spend the day in Parkdale this Saturday May 9th!

Join us this Saturday as we celebrate the third Spring into Parkdale Festival and Sidewalk Sale from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.  The Parkdale BIA will be set up at four (4) key intersections all day long Queen and Triller, Queen and Jameson, Queen and Cowan and Queen and Cowan. We have over 75 businesses and community organizations also joining in on the fun this year too! Spring into Parkdale – Call for Volunteers

The Parkdale Village BIA is looking for volunteers to lend a friendly hand during an outdoor community event on Saturday May 9th, 2015 – in Parkdale!

If you love Parkdale, are friendly and excited to support the community and local businesses, please email Andrea Switzer at director@parkdalevillagebia.com and briefly share your availability, past volunteer work and duties you think you would be suitable for. Up to 40 Volunteer positions are available for a series of four (4) to six (6) hour shifts, happening between 9:00am & 8:00pm.
Duties may include:

  • Poster/flyer distribution
  • Face Painting
  • Photo Booth
  • Event Photography
  • Assisting Performers
  • Booth set up and tear down (must be able to lift 40 pounds)
  • Street décor
  • Craft Workshops
  • Promotional product distribution
  • Street teams
  • Social media
  • Cleanup crew

 

Volunteers may be required to participate in a training session.

 Attention all musicians, buskers, kids performers, etc. The Parkdale Village BIA is looking for great acts to feature at our annual Spring into Parkdale Festival! We are looking for a wide range of performers for our third annual community festival and are now accepting submissions . If you love Parkdale and want to share your talent with our great neighbourhood, please get in touch!

 To apply for consideration, please submit the following:

  • A sample of the music or performance you would like to share at the Spring into Parkdale Festival (i.e. an MP3, video or link to your website)
  • The following information:
    • Band/Artist name

Spring is just around the corner Parkdale!

Spring into parkdale 2014 collage

It may be cold and the snow feels like it’s here to stay but spring is just around the corner, and with it brings another fabulous Spring into Parkdale festival!
2015 will be the third year for the festival and each year it gets bigger and better! 

In our first two years we saw some (very) cold temperatures, with the festival happening in mid to late April, so this year’s festival will take place on Saturday May 9th!

There will be giveaways, performances, a sidewalk sale and lots of other fun things happening all along Queen Street West throughout the day. Stay tuned for updates and details about the event. If you have questions about how to participate please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Spring into Parkdale Festival has sprung!

Last weekend Spring made a brief appearance in Parkdale Village for the 2nd Annual Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Sale and Festival on April 26, 2014. We would like to thank all the businesses and community partners who participated and the many residents and visitors that strolled our neighbourhood!

Can you believe we are less than a week away from our 2nd Annual Spring into Parkdale Sidewalk Sale & Festival on Saturday April 26th 10am-6pm! 

Even a little rain won’t stop the many shops and organizations participating this year, and with the help of residents and visitors the show will go on!
